Brand Guidelines

If you already have brand guidelines, send them over. If not, even a lightweight brand pack is useful.

The Minimum Useful Set

  • Primary logo file.
  • Any alternate or reversed logo versions.
  • Brand colours.
  • Brand fonts, if you use specific ones.
  • A note on the overall tone: for example calm, premium, playful, practical, or modern.

Best File Types

  • SVG is ideal for logos.
  • PNG with transparency is usually the next best option.
  • JPG is acceptable for reference, but not ideal as the main logo file.

Colour Guidance

If possible, send:

  • hex codes such as #6e8d4d;
  • clear notes on primary and secondary colours;
  • any colours that should not be used.

Font Guidance

If you have brand fonts:

  • send the font names;
  • send the files only if you are licensed to share them;
  • mention any fallback fonts if licensing is limited.

If You Do Not Have Formal Brand Guidelines

That is fine. A simple folder with:

  • your current logo;
  • a few reference images;
  • links to examples you like;
  • notes on colour and tone;

is often enough to establish a direction.
